Change

A friend of mine many years ago wrote a song called, "Time for a Change".  One of the lines in the song says, "I think it's time for a change, a change in my life..."  Many high school students made a commitment last week during Revolution 2009 to allow God to make changes in them.  They knew that there was something in their life that needed a change.  Some decided to use better language, some decided to treat their parents better, some decided to have better friends and others decided to make major changes in the kind of relationships they get involved in.  I ask you, "What changes in your life do you need to make to have the relationship with God that He wants you to have?"

Our church has been in a series called, "Give Love Away."  When we receive the love of God we now have something to give back to others.  We also receive the assurance of eternal life with our Savior one day.  The love we have received from God and the fact that we will one day be with Him forever should change certain things about us in the here and now.  We should love better, listen to things that praise God, learn from people that live for God, and look at people the way God does.  Has your salvation changed any of these in your life?  Don't miss this Sunday as Pastor Matt shares us more on this subject.Gla-web-banner

Speaking of Change -- don't forget this weekend our service times will be changing.  Our Saturday night services will be at 4:30 and 6:30pm and Sunday services will be at 9:30 and 11:30am.  Sunday is also TIME CHANGE SUNDAY -- Spring forward...set your clocks ahead one hour on Saturday night before going nighty night.  And, be sure to be part of one of the most exciting Sunday night services in a long time here in our Student Ministry.  Sunday night at 5pm is going to be a crazy awesome night and God is going to do something great.  Can't wait to see all of you this weekend.Time-change-weekend-web-banner

Rhythm.

What an incredible weekend. God moved in a powerful way in both our weekend services and again last night at our Epic High School service. We discovered how we can have a faith that everything can be built upon and give us everything God desires of us throughout our main services.  It was a joy and a privilege to be able to speak this weekend.  I love being part of C3 and serving with Pastor Matt -- what an incredible leader and Pastor we have.

Last night, we looked at what keeps us from being in rhythm with God.  So many of us want to be in tune with what God is doing, but we are not in a right position to listen and respond to Him.  I want to encourage all of our High School students to stay in tune with God, listen to His Word and make sure you get involved with REVOLUTION weekend.  Revolution is going to be the best it has ever been -- you don't want to miss it.  You can sign up right now, online at www.c3students.com

Be sure to be at C3 this coming weekend as we begin a new series, "Give Love Away."  And all High School students---join us next Sunday night as we continue to look at what will keep us from being in rhythm with Christ.

Go Steelers!

This weekend is Super Bowl weekend.  As anyone who knows me knows, I am a huge Steelers fanatic!  Regardless of who you are rooting for this weekend (even if it's Arizona), most of us cheer for some team.  We may have a college team we love (go Tarheels), we may have a race car driver we follow, we may have some team or sport that hardly anyone has ever heard of -- but the fact is, we all cheer for someone or something.

Let me let you in on something -- God cheers also.  While it may not be a team he cheers for, He does cheer for you!  He wants you to know that He is cheering for you to succeed, to live out the purpose for which you were created, to become all that He has wired you to become.  I want to encourage everyone of you to be at one of our four weekend services to find out how you can live the Super Life, but I also want to encourage every middle school and high school student to not miss our Sunday night service.

On Sunday night we are going to not only eat tons of junk food, play games, win prizes, kick field goals, watch the game until halftime, we are also going to find out how we can win the ultimate prize of life.  Pittsburgh and Arizone are competing for a football trophy...God has something so much greater for you.  Be sure to be here by 5pm on Sunday night and be sure to bring someone with you.  Don't miss out on this incredible night of fun, energy, excitement and time of connecting with God.  We'll see you this weekend!

Question:  Which team do you want to win?  Will actually win?  And what do you think the score will be?

Down Under

Even since I watched the summer olympics in 2000 I've always wanted to visit Austrailia.  Ever since coming to C3 I've always wanted to visit Hillsong Church in Syndey, Austrailia.  We'll this weekend at C3 we get a little bit of both.

This weekend Christine Caine will be our special guest. Christine is from Austrailia.  Hillsong Church is her home church and she has the opportunity to speak there as well.  If you are a Hillsong fan, you will love Christine Caine. She has an incredible way of bringing God's Word alive and making it relevant.

She will speaking in all three worship services as well as at a special gathering on Sunday night at 6pm for all females in the church.  We call it Chick Night.  You are going to want to invite all your friends, relatives and neighbors to this exciting weekend.  And, if you're a young lady, you're going to want to make sure you do everything you can to get everyone you know here for Sunday night.

We will take a one week break from our regular High School services so all of our girls can take part in this amazing night.  And then, on February 1st we have one of the biggest Sunday nights of the year -- the C3 student ministry Super Bowl Party.  Invite everyone now!  See you this weekend.

Question:  If you could visit any place on earth, where would it be?

It's happening.

Have you ever been waiting for something and then when it happens you were disappointed?  Maybe you were waiting for a movie that you thought would be great only to be let down.  Have you ever been waiting for something only for it to never happen?  We'll I'm here to tell you that something great is happening at C3 Church.

We are in the middle of 21 days of prayer and fasting.  We are praying for God to do something great in our personal lives and then see that carry over into the life our church.  This past weekend God did some amazing things at C3.  Many people allowed God to move in a powerful way in their life during our main worship services and last night at our High School service  many students made a commitment to represent the greatness and holiness of our Savior.

It is so easy for us to minimize the greatness of God or to disregard his holiness.  Our High School ministry is determined to not do this and to help other see His greatness and holiness.  As great as this past weekend was, the next two weeks it only gets better.

Make sure you have made your plans and invited your friends to be part of this coming weekend.  We have one of the most sought after speakers in the world, Christine Cane speaking all weekend and she will be doing a special girls only service on Sunday night at 6pm.  And then on Feb. 1st, don't miss our Super Weekend.  Check out our website www.c3church.com for more details.  Things are  definitely happening at C3 Church -- we look forward to seeing you this weekend.

In His Presence

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be in the presence of greatness?  Whether you wondered what it would be like to sit and talk with a President, Micheal Jordan, Johnny Depp or the Jonas Brothers...we all would like to surround ourselves with people or things that are great.

This weekend our church began 21 days of prayer and fasting.  Over the next 21 days we are encouraging everyone to make it a priority to spend time with God and seek Him and His will for your life.  When we fast, we don't just go without certain foods...but more importantly we focus on filling our lives with the things that truly matter.  Make sure 2009 and beyond you fill your life with the things that really matter.

Last night, at our Epic service, we talked about one of the things that really matter -- being in the presence of God.  You have the opportunity everyday to sit in the presence of the one...the best one that is the true example of greatness.  Jesus Christ is far greater than any human alive today or in the past...far greater than anything our heart desires---and He wants to spend time with you.  You come into His presence when you spend time in His Word and spend time talking (praying) to Him.  If you want 2009 to really count...make a commitment to being in the presence of real greatness -- Jesus.

Go to www.c3church.com or to www.awake21.org for daily devotionals and help over the next 21 days.  Let's give God our best this year.  Let's come into His presence and live out His plan for our life.

Question of the Day:  If you could spend time with anyone alive today who would it be and why?

21 days

Get ready!  Last weekend was awesome, but this weekend is going to be even better.  Pastor Matt shared how we can have victory over Satan in 2009 and on Sunday night we began our series called, "Start".  We discussed some issues we have to resolve in order to start the year the way God desires.

However, this weekend will be even more amazing.  As a church we begin our 21 days of prayer and fasting -- for 21 days we will seek God and ask Him to guide us and direct us in His path and plan.  It is going to be an incredible way to begin 2009.  Make your plan and prepare now to spend time with God and with God's people as we hear from God and follow Him wholeheartedly.

And finish off your weekend in style -- be sure to be with us at Epic on Sunday night at 5pm as we continue our series on START.  This weekend we will hit the topic of "Wanna Be" -- what is it God really wants you to be this year?  See you Sunday night.

Question of the Day:  What is it you really want God to do for you this year?

Start

2009!  Can you believe a new year is here?  I celebrated the new year at Liberty University.  We had 15 students at Winterfest -- a festival of Christian concerts and other acts.  We'll have pictures up on the site in the next few days.  Are you ready to start another year?  I'll be honest with you...I am!

I can't wait for all that God has in store for me, our students and C3 Church.  I truly believe God is going to do something more awesome and more amazing than ever before.  And we have a couple of things to help us start off on the right foot.

Over the first several weekends of new year Pastor Matt will share with us what it is going to take to Awaken to all that God has in store for us.  We will learn about real biblical fasting and prayer.  We will also take part in 21 days of church wide prayer and fasting to ask God to awaken our mind, bodies and souls to Him for 2009.  Don't miss out on what God has for you and our church over this 21 day period.

I can't wait for this coming Sunday night, January 4th. Our High School Ministry will begin a new series simply titled, "Start."  We will discover what it's going to take for us to start the year and live this year the way God desires of us.  Bring all your friends and find out how to start living out the dreams that God has for you.  Tell everyone you know that they can start recognizing the plans that God has and how to fully live the abundant life that Christ came to give.  I can't wait to see you and your friends this Sunday night. 2009 has officially started...now let's start doing things God's way!

Question:  What are you most excited about doing in 2009?

Life is good, Eternal life is better

One of my favorite music groups is a group called Stellar Kart.  I've had the chance to see them in concert a few times.  A few years back they had a song called, "life is good, eternal life is better."  It's an awesome song and one I highly encourage you to listen to -- check out their website -- www.stellarkart.com

During this time of the year a lot of people simply think that if they get what they want, get some time off of school, see friends and family-- then everything will be all good.  We can try to make our life as good as we want...make sure everything falls perfectly into place, but there is only one thing that will truly make life awesome...only one thing that can give you exactly what you need this Christmas season and forever.   If you are ready to discover what will make your life not just better, but the best -- then don't miss services this weekend at C3 Church.

Pastor Matt will be sharing how life can be wonderful and how your life can not only be good, but be what God meant for it to be.  Come to C3 on December 20th or 21st (we have four services -- 4pm and 6pm on Saturday and 9:15 and 11:15am on Sunday) and hear what it takes to have a wonderful life.  See you there.

Travel

With Christmas quickly approaching it means several things.  One of which is the time to be with family and friends.  Are you going to be with relatives this Christmas?  Are you going to be traveling anywhere to be with loved ones?  My family and I traveled down to South Florida this week to visit with some family and friends.  We've had a great time being with my brother's family as well as many others close to our family.

Can you imagine what it might have been like for Mary and Joseph on the night that Jesus was born?  They traveled a great distance only to be told there wasn't any more room, they were put out into a stable, about to give birth to a baby, didn't know anyone (no family or friends with them) and their entire life was about to change.

I can't begin to think what must have been going through their minds.  What was their life about to become?  How could this one night...this one circumstance...this one child...save the world?   I want to encourage every student and every family to attend one of our four services this coming weekend.  Pastor Matt will bringing a powerful message on how life can become wonderful because of the events of Jesus' birth.  No matter what's happening in your life...Jesus can and wants to make your life wonderful.Christmas-weekend-web-banner

And don't forget... C3 will be having a Christmas eve service at 4pm on December 24th.  This is going to be a special time for the your whole family and our church to come together to praise, celebrate and honor the birth of our Savior.  Hope you're having a great week and can't wait to see you this weekend.
