Everybody wants to be an MVP – Most Valuable Person. Everybody wants to feel valuable. In less than 2 weeks at C3 Church we are having our MVP Weekend, October 29-30. Here’s how we get ready for this weekend…
It was 13 years ago, the last weekend of October, 1998, that we had our Kick Off service in Cleveland Elementary School with about 167 people. It’s been amazing to see all that God has done. There is nothing more powerful than a personal relationship and caring enough to get out of our comfort zone and inviting someone to church so they can find real hope in Jesus. Our passion at C3 is to provide REAL HOPE, for REAL PEOPLE, in a REAL WORLD! And God wants to use YOU to make a difference! I can’t wait to see all that God does!

Idea #20:
Invite someone to church this weekend.
1 Thessalonians 1:2-3, "We always thank God for all of you and continually mention you in our prayers. We remember before our God and Father your work produced by faith, your labor prompted by love, and your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ." (NIV)

Idea #19:
Invite friends over for dinner that you haven't connected with in a while.
2 John 1:5, "I am writing to remind you, dear friends, that we should love one another. This is not a new commandment, but one we have had from the beginning." (NLT)

These are lessons I’ve learned in 26 years of ministry. I spent 13 years as a Minister of Students and 13 years as a Lead Pastor and Church Planter.
STAY HUMBLE – When we humble ourselves God will lift us up. You must be willing to do whatever it takes. Sometimes you just have to keep your mouth shut and pay your dues. Faithfulness today leads to God’s blessings tomorrow. Don’t promote yourself, Let God promote you.
James 4:10, “Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up in honor.”
STAY POSITIVE – Even when everyone around you is negative… stay positive! We have so much to be thankful for as Christians. A smile doesn't take much effort but it can make a huge difference.
STAY PURE – Keep a pure heart and a pure mind. This doesn’t mean that we are perfect, just forgiven. Get into God’s Word everyday and seek His face in prayer.
Psalm 24:1-5, “The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it. The world and all its people belong to him. For he laid the earth’s foundation on the seas and built it on the ocean depths. Who may climb the mountain of the Lord? Who may stand in his holy place? Only those whose hands and hearts are pure, who do not worship idols and never tell lies. They will receive the Lord’s blessing and have a right relationship with God their savior.”
TAKE CARE OF YOUR BODY – Take time to exercise, eat well. You are modeling for others how to take care of yourself.
TAKE INITIATIVE – Don’t wait for someone to ask you to do something. If you see a need… meet it! I would rather have to pull somebody back in that is too aggressive than have to push someone to get stuff done.
STAY TEACHABLE – Ask a lot of questions and do a lot of listening. Resource yourself.
THINK BIG – Don’t dream small, don’t think small. Dream Big. Always remember that NOTHING is impossible with God. Dream big and go for it. But be patient when it doesn’t happen in your timing.
Henrietta Mears, “There is no magic in small plans. When I consider my ministry, I think of the world. Anything less than that would not be worthy of Christ, nor of His will for my life.” Henrietta Mears was a world changer! She was a College and Young Adult minister at Hollywood Presbyterian and Founder of Gospel Light press.
NEVER, NEVER, NEVER GIVE UP – Decide now that you are not only going to start strong but you are going to finish strong! Paul says, I have fought the good fight, I have kept the faith, I have finished the race.
2 Timothy 4:7, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith”.

Idea #18:
Clean out your closets and donate the clothes you no longer wear to the needy.
Jeremiah 22:16, "He gave justice and help to the poor and needy, and everything went well for him. Isn’t that what it means to know me?” says the Lord." (NLT)

A few years ago God gave me a vision to raise up 100 Warriors for Christ. Not just 100 men that would gather for prayer but 100 men that would get serious about God and being a man of God in their home. Out of these 100 warriors will come future leaders in our church. That there would be no limit to what God can do with the men taking key roles and leadership in their homes, in our church and community. Praise God for women! Where would we be without them? Where would our churches be without them? But God is looking for some men to get up, stand up and step up and make a difference in our communities for Christ. We like to say it’s time to put your big boy pants on and lead. And the most powerful way to fight and lead is on our knees!
And now three years later we have over 100 men that gather twice a month on a Thursday morning at 6am for prayer and worship. Can I tell you this is one of the best things that we have done here at C3 Church! I love spending time with the men and pouring into them. This past year we have had 1011 people make a Fresh Start with God and I believe that it’s been a result of our men praying.
Our schedule for the upcoming C3 Warriors Men’s Prayer is:
See ya tomorrow!

Idea #16:
Leave a co-worker or your supervisor an encouraging note with their favorite candy on their desk.
Colossians 3:12 & 14, "Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity." (NIV)
