Who Has The Best BBQ?

Last week I had the privilege of speaking at an awesome church in Memphis, TN...The Life Church of Memphis with Pastor John Siebeling. This is a ten year old, multi-racial church that is rocking it for Jesus.

While in Memphis, Pastor John and Leslie took Martha and I out for some good ole Memphis BBQ. I have to admit it was good...put a little spicy BBQ sauce on it and I was in heaven. I felt a little guilty enjoying it because of my loyalty and passion for Eastern North Carolina BBQ. What do you think? Who has the best BBQ?

The Amazing Creator

Last week, as our family was driving through the Ozark mountains in Arkansas, my son said, “Dad look!” I’m trying to drive with one eye and look out the window with the other. As I looked out the window, it was an amazing view of the rolling mountains, a lake, as the sun was setting. I couldn’t help but think to myself what an amazing God we have. Whenever you’re tempted to doubt the existence of God, just look at what He has created.

Isaiah 40:28, “Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and His understanding no one can fathom.”(NIV)

When you get tired or weary this week, just remember what an awesome God we have!

Elevate
Tomorrow night we have our first ever college and young adult night called Elevate. If you are between the ages of 18 to 20 something...married or single...we’d love to have you join us tomorrow night at 7:30pm. I will be speaking, the Elevate Band will be rocking, and we will have a Coffeehouse open serving cappuccinos, lattes, and every other kind of coffee you can think of. Come on somebody...God is good!

I'm Back!

Hey everybody. After a brief break, I’m back in the blogging world. I want to thank you for your prayers over the past weeks. I can’t tell you what it means to know that I have friends that are thinking of me and praying for me as I was going through the heart tests and catheterization. I received phone calls and emails from friends all over the country as well as here at C3. As you probably already know I’m fine...my health is good...but I am going to make some adjustments. I’m already eating half fat ice cream, low fat hot dogs, and I’ve exercised twice. Just kidding...except for the ice cream.

This past week Martha and I had the privilege of meeting with some movers and shakers for the Kingdom. We were in Greensboro, NC for 2 days meeting with the pastors of some of the largest churches in the state. This is an annual meeting and the purpose is to share ideas and insight with each other on a variety of issues. The best part is the relationships that are formed.

Our family spent the weekend in Va Beach with Pastor Steve Kelly and the Wave Church. Pastor Brian Houston from Hillsong Church was the guest speaker. One of the highlights was eating Indian food with Pastor Brian, Pastor Steve and a few friends after the Sunday night service. It was awesome to spend time with one of the most dynamic and influential pastors in the world. What I love about Pastor Brian and the Hillsong staff is that they are humble, down the earth, and real. But they are fired up about building God’s kingdom around the world.

Today I will be meeting with a group of pastors from the triangle area and some staff from Harvest Christian Fellowship, Riverside, California. We are making plans to host the Harvest Crusade with Pastor Greg Laurie here in Raleigh, June 07 at the RBC Center.
